Well, coming from a person who doesn't have any kids (yet), when I think about it I do think working part-time while raising your children will improve your life. The main reason I started this was to help with my research towards the subject for my women's studies class. I believe working part time will help mothers 1) earn money 2) decrease the daily stress of parenting and 3) get to establish relationships with the people they work with.
Things become extremely complicated when one has kids, to the extent that one cannot make a blanket statement about whether working part time would improve life or make it worse.
First, you don't get to tell others what would improve their lives.
That said, everything you specified can be achieved in ways other than workting PT. WOH can achieve those things. WAH can achieve those things. With the exception of earning money, SAH can achieve all those things.
