Where things are different now from when my kids were younger is then I had to keep their schedule it mind, now I don't. I can work hours that work best for me.

It is all about me now. LOL

for me, a perfect schedule wouldn't change a whole lot even after my kids are grown, i offer my time every once in a while to the schools and i love doing that, i love the faith based setting too.

About what it is now minus the crisis of Penssic and the Joust.

That's almost my schedule, but I work 8:30-4:00

7:30-4 with a half hour lunch -- if talking FT

But really, I'd LOVE to do PT. Maybe a 9-3 gig or something. Or even 7-1.

Since my kids don't need before/after care anymore, "perfect hours" has totally changed meaning for me.

Right now I have the best schedule I have had in 25 years of teaching. I have to teach from 8 to 9, 11-12, and 2-4:30 on Mondays, 10-11 on Tuesdays, and 4:30 to 6:50 on Thursdays. Monday is horrendous, but once that is over I have big chunks of time during the week for research, writing, and everything else.

My "perfect" job would be 8-2, three times a week, with some flexibility.
