Again, I asked you for the sauce recipe (the non time consuming one) and then you stated you don't share your cheese recipe.

Yes, so do I which is why I add extra cheese between the layers.

I did.. I spent tons of time in the kitchen with my dad and with my two aunts (who were also of the "we're stealing all teh dining room chairs to dry the pasta" school of sunday cooking...and my dad's cousins and extended family in New Haven ...one of who was "family" family if you get my drift)

and I still need cookbooks LOL

No, my father married into the family when I was about twelve or thirteen, I don't remember exactly how old I was when they got married. I did see plenty of cooking, and unlike you, actually worked alongside my stepmother and her mother and sisters and the one Italian sister-in-law, and learned under their tutelage. And yes, I did see how they lived. You can learn a lot between 13 and 53.

Again, Italians putting up a pot of "sauce" or "gravy" on Sunday would be red or meat sauce. If you have not experiences this IRL, I can see why the confusion because Italian restaurants serve all different sauces. A traditional Sunday dinner is a red (with or without-usually with) sauce. I NEVER said an Italian would NOT make any other sauce at any other time though.

Yes, my family enjoys eating all the broken and misshaped cookies I make but cannot sell. There are a few in every hundred cookies I make. They taste just the same, but they do not sell as well.

I'm sorry you didn't like my answer.

I never claimed that a family would not eat anything other than red sauce. I ask you what they called it, in your experience, since in your experience, "sauce" is red. I think you mean that red sauce is the generic sauce, and that other sauces need adjectives, but since you won't address that issue, I am not sure.
