This topic "piggybacks" on the priorities topic where we discussed what we gave up as working women and moms, what do you think our children give up...honestly!? What do you think they gain? Also please mention your own mothers status and your experience of a child as a SAH or WOH.

If you "heard" that, it was autogenerated, since it's certainly not the case.

Personally, I would love to receive a candy cane when everyone else is handing out Kit Kats. There is nothing I enjoy more than receiving something unique and unexpected. Besides, peppermint tastes delicious in hot chocolate.

If she only had 3 trick or treaters, then who were the people she withheld candy from? And as long as she had a piece of candy for each of them, what is the problem here? You and egd have made it out as though she selfishly withheld candy from someone, or that her failure to purchase more than a few pieces of candy is a problem. Is there some unknown virtue in purchasing more candy than you need for Halloween? I think it is quite generous of her to provide any candy at all for a holiday she does not celebrate. There are some families whose children brought back far more candy than they gave out. featheredfriend's family gave more than they received. I hardly see what is selfish about that.

It's called a closed table by eucharistic theologians who are also Roman Catholic. Why would it be "strange" to call something what it is, especially in academic writing?

I do lurk on board about digital photography and a couple of blogs about cooking....is that one of them?

Oh and you missed my questions.....Why does it matter?

Lanyards, knitting, ironing beads, probably all make your own craft that are sold Toys stores and art and craft stores, draws with paints, markers, pencils, stencils. I could go on and on and on. Just today she was creating her own beaded items, bracelets, earrings, necklaces. She made her own confirmation favors with ironing beads, adding other things and making little packages for guests. VERY creative.

I thought you understood that different people do different things. I have yet to figure out why you are so concerned about the fact that different people celebrate the Christmas season on different dates.

I must be missing it, where does "heated" come from?

Are there now actual parameters for what counts as "normal" trick-or-treat candy?

The ONLY reason, of course not.
