What is with people who decide to belittle me because I want to give up my job and be a SAHM?
DH and I have planned it for quite some time, and it looks as if my dream of being a SAHM to my three little ones is about to come true (after New Year's?), and I am getting SOOOO many negative comments from people who know what the plan is.
Like I am some kind of lazy idiot for wanting to stay home and look after my house and the little ones (18 months and 2.5) and be there when 12 y/o SD gets home from school?
Like I'm crazy for wanting to give up a "terrific job" to take care of my kids?

Yeah, I got a lot of that when I left my job too.
I have been a SAHM for 10 years.
Oh, I'm getting flack from everyone, and it's just a little frustrating.
I WOH full time -- I hate housecleaning so...I don't.
Yes. We. Did.
well by now you've all heard about Kelly and Liza writing "we love mommy/Katie" in the dust on the tv in my bedroom LOL.
Yes. We. Did.
They're just jealous. This is one of those times when you have to prepare yourself with snappy comebacks. How about:
"But do *you* have any experience as a SAHP?"
"Oh, I'm so sorry SAH didn't work out well for you, but I'm looking forward to it myself!"
"Oh, I know if I get too bored, I can just call you and let you beotch about how tough it is at work!"
Or maybe, "Well, it's all about having a support system of people you can count on for *supporrt*" (that is, people not like you).
Or just give them a blank stare and wait for them to figure out they're being stupid. Or not, lol.
