Has the recession caused you to change your lifestyle, including the decision to SAH or WOH?

Mostly we are just thankful that we still have our jobs in this economy.

No. I've always worked. As long as brides continue to get married and reenactors spend money on clothes, I'm good. And if that dries up, I'll just go more into general alterations. Alterations, like car mechanics and plumbers, can not be outsourced.

Not the decision to WOH; I already am WOH.
But it's affected our spending habits quite a bit. We're frugal anyway, but now even more so. We use more coupons than we did before, and DH takes advantage of the BOGO offers at the supermarket. We've stepped up the amount we put into savings as well, just in case.

Not really. I continue to work PT and dh works in a field that is in high demand these days so his job is pretty stable. He actually got promoted in the fall. I think the only thing that the recession has really affected for us is our home value. Fortunately, we bought our house nearly 15 years ago before the real estate boom so our mortgage is very reasonable. While it's value has dropped, it is still worth well more than we paid for it. I'd love a little more space for our large family, but we'll make do with what we have.
The only other way it's really affected us is that we've been more charitable, especially in our immediate community rather than donating to national charities.
I know; it's crazy! I'm in an area that has been hit pretty hard. The big companies are moving their headquarters to other areas, and two of the three biggest industries (retail and hospitality) are suffering; and we all know how the real estate market is...
