Has the recession caused you to change your lifestyle, including the decision to SAH or WOH?

credit card fees can kill a small business -- what we pay at the theater and bookstore are crazy. and one of local banks is running a promotion to get their customers to sign when they use their credit card at POS rather than punch in their pin...why? the merchant has to pay the bank a bigger fee that way....

You mean pre-collegiate private school tuition? The money gets deposited to your 529 plan, so you can use it for anything that's allowed under 529.

We have done those plans a couple of times in the past but we recently received a letter from the company that we have done it with and it said due to the new credit card laws companies can no longer offer no interest/no payment plans. They can still offer no interest plans but in order to get the no interest equal monthly payments must be done throughout the repayment time period. You can not longer make one complete payment at the end.

Right but if you pay the bill in full, every month, then there is no need to transfer anything to a 1-2 year 0% deal.

Some people think the credit card "bill" is the minimum you have to pay every month to keep the card.

Other people consider the credit card bill to be the whole amount charged that month. If you do not carry a balance forward to the next month, you pay no interest.

You do not get charged the 10-20% if you are all paid up.
