and sometimes separating FOR THE KIDS makes the family unit stronger too. Every case is different. I have a much stronger, healthier and more positive relationship with David now that we're divorced and Liza has two strong loving wonderful homes to call her own. I thought of that today -- Liza is off of school but daycamp doesn't start utnil next week -- she's with me this week but I can't take time off work so David took some days off to hang with her during the day until I get home to pick up dance recital duty -- in many respects it's EXACTLy how we managed when we were married -- except we do it in different houses. We talk every single day, we go to everyting together (with our partners) and all decisions are made jointly about LIza's care... we're a warm loving family unit -- we just aren't married any more.
*shrug* maybe Elizabeth Hasslebeck just doens't know anyone like us ;-)
"If gay Americans are not allowed to get married and have all the benefits that American citizens are entitled to by the Bill of Rights, they should get one hell of a tax break. That is my opinion,"

- Jeane "Dear Abby" Phillips, in an interview with Lisa Leff.
