There's something on this board that has been bothering me, and I hope I can articulate it.

How exactly are you going to figure out if the class has improved or your daughter is still playing dumb?

Next conference the gap has closed....the kids are gaining, what exactly are you going to do to figure out why she is not sooo far ahead of her classmates anymore?

You mean you would rather compare your dd to a class that doesn't know what a book is or half of their letters to the national average where at this age the majority can tell you not only what a book is and all of their letters but many can read?

See and I was going to post something to the effect....why would it matter and why would the teacher care?

Why is it all about the goal? Why isn't it about the journey? To offer one of my favorite quotes, "Sometimes how you get there is the worthier part."

"Yes I was told my oldest is at the top of his class for reading and she also mentioned the many ways she was furthering his reading skills since he has outgrown that grades reading program.

Isn't it simply a way of understanding your child, both strengths and weaknesses, a little better?

ROFLMAO, good thing you haven't experienced a good teacher - that way you are satisfied with this biased gossiper.

You're right. I just don't get it. How can you be so blind as to not see what is going on. Quite honestly I don't believe you. I cannot believe that there is a K teacher who has been teaching for 20 years and is this lousy at the job.

Forgot to add: Yes, all of the lawyers at my previous company were ranked by performance, in order to award bonuses (limited bonus pool - highest performers got the most).
