There's something on this board that has been bothering me, and I hope I can articulate it.

It always amazes me when that's true.

There is a link when you're discussing the difference between barely above poverty level and middle class. There is no difference between well-off and very well-off. Show me how children from families with a $90,000 yearly income are better off than children from families with a $60,000 yearly income. Can't be done b/c it isn't so. The "better off" that you speak of comes when children whose basic needs (nutritional, emotional, educational) aren't being met are compared to children whose are.

To use your own words, there comes a point when enough is enough. You speak in terms of time, but the same concept applies to money. Yes, there's a point at which there isn't enough but once there is enough, more is just more, not necessarily better.

Didn't you get my e-mail from about 9:15 Friday night?

I never said it did benefit all kids, however, in general, WOH DOES positively impact a family's SES. I'm speaking to what the current class of WM's ARE doing.

Is it also possible that someone else's children are better off than yours because they have more time with their mother? It's interesting that you believe more time is simply more time but more money is better.

I'm not referring to the financial aspects but the end product. Because SAH/WOH make little difference, the decision often boils down to finances.

But with the net extra from the 30K, you could go

Yes it is, but just because a parent is SAH doesn't automatically translate into spending more time *with* the children any more than having higher income means the children automatically benefit from the additional income.
