There's something on this board that has been bothering me, and I hope I can articulate it.

Um, not crowing about it anywhere. All that matters is that my dd is handled the way she needs to be handled now so we need to know where she fits in the class but that is not an indicator of where she'll be in 4 years.

I'm concerned that she's getting what SHE needs at home and school. Seeing how far a head of her peers she is resulted in a few changes to make sure she's being challenged.

Could be. People run off half cocked about research data all the time and then it turns out to be nothing, like Belsky and the dc=aggression study that turned out to be much ado about nothing. I am not going to assume different=bad without reason. I would HOPE things are different for my kids otherwise we're not making progress.

No. ANYTHING they do with her now will single her out, however, her peer group is too young for that to be an issue. If she continues to have this problem, they'll start pulling her out of the classroom in 3rd grade. No matter what they do, they will be calling attention to the fact she's different. Apart from putting her in a school for gifted children, if she is gifted, there's not much that can be done to avoid that.

Interesting answer...Easy.

Is it easy to measure the progress of your daughter as she continues to lower herself down to her classmates learning levels?
