I think in the old days men use to tell women the what to do, or what not to do. Today we let other women tell us what is right for us. I have never seen two situations that are the same in any relationship. The roles are changing as we type right now. Women use to think it was worth it to spend as much time at home with their children as time would give them. However, that is not the case today. It is all very sad if you ask me because you have some men that are saying "I will stay home for the kids", and at the same time the women opt not too.I have three girls, the oldest is 8 and the youngest is 3 months , each child has a four yr space. Some parents need duel incomes. I think as children get older it is okay to get work outside the house, but as they are growing and learning new things I would like to see that for myself if I can. I have another year of college and then I will have to work, and I am not looking forward to it. The idea of being away from my children is scary to me. I find it hard to even let them go outside and play. However, I am getting better with it. Both my parents worked, and I recalled how much I wanted to be with my mom. I would have been happy just to go to Walmarts with her, but she never really had the time. It is not a matter of what is right or wrong, but what is the need of the family? Can a family make it on one check? That depends on the location, the home, car, and the life style that the parents want to have. Some could say if you want to be safe, you both have to pay because safe comes with a high price tag. Others could say different. The truth is stay at home moms are on the downfall due to the different types of families today. Is it bad or good, I do not know. However, I can tell you it is life.

So what? They're just actors. It's not like they're doing something important or even particularly difficult. Yes, it's customary to thank people. I don't really know why when you really haven't done anything other than entertain people. Our values are out of place in this country. The awards belong to those who actually accomplish something.

One would think so but I have a feeling it doesn't work that way. It's probably take credit for the accomplishments but place blame on the child for their failures.

I have no problem acknowledging that Michael Jordan is an incredible athlete even if he does not "deserve" the money he has made. And even is 99% of what he does is entertainment.

99% of all aspiring performers never earn 7 figure paychecks. My best friend from high school is an opera singer. She works hard, performs, doesn't get paid much, but is doing what she loves. Her friends in NYC are singers, actors, performs of all kinds that are just regular people with regular jobs that happen to be in entertainment. I consider her successful - and she considers herself successful. She may never sing at Madison Square Garden or even record an album, but she's still successful. Judging all performers by the 7-figure earning starts is like assuming all athletes are only in it for the Nike endorsements.

Mine, too. A few courses each year were taught for the specific grade-level, but others were offered to all students.

"Pricey" means "expensive" and "brand" means "big name".

I was answering a post that held Reese Witherspoon winning an oscar up as an accomplishment. I have far less against the more down to earth entertainers. In fact, I think they're all we really need.

We do need entrtainment and it does serve a purpose but what has the likes of Reese Witherspoon accomplished that is worth all the accolades? You'd think she helped hundreds of people out of the WTC on 9/11 or discovered a new drug to treat AIDS the way people act.

Scratch that, we wouldn't give someone who did help hundreds of people out of the WTC or discovered a new AIDS drug with anywhere near the adoration reserved for STARS. We really don't know what is of value do we?

I don't have to be an actor to see that actors don't accomplish much. I'd rather pat a fireman on the back than an actor.

Ummm.. I was talking about a college level English course that I am taking currently, not a high school class. I wouldn't be able to say if it is across the board. I think maybe my standards are a bit high.

That is not the case in my experience.
