"SAH doesn't support change, it supports going backwards to the 1950's,"

Statement in a post below.

I wholeheartedly disagree. To me, SAH is a choice. How is that going back to the 1950s, when a lot of women didn't have much of a choice.

But, you don't have to feel any discomfort because your children read for the sheer joy of reading. As do mine.

I would expect that many children would value the little plastic toys simply because adults seem to think they are so important. That doesn't mean the children are stupid. It means they are being trained to value things the adults around them seem to value. That's what bothers me.

Yeah, I do regularly clean out rain gutters. We have one right in front of our house and if its not kept clear of leaves and other debris, the water backs up and I can't get to my mailbox. Why do you ask?

Oh, okay. But, the school is a block away and she didn't specify that they were her rain gutters. I'm sure there are quite a few rain gutters between her house and the school.

Yes, that's what I have been saying all along. It IS awfully bizarre to take a method best suited to dogs and dolphins and use it on children.

Huh? You mean only unexcused absences count against attendance for the awards? Not in my experience, at any school. As for the gibberish non sentence after that... it's anyone's guess.

You didn't specify *your* rain gutters.

If it works for someone's child, why would that not be okay?

I don't see why she would have mentioned where she lived if she weren't talking about her own rain gutters, but hey, we're all different.

Please explain.

Are you saying that children who attend school every single day, except when they are sick or have some other legitimate excuse, are getting perfect attendance awards at your school?
