"SAH doesn't support change, it supports going backwards to the 1950's,"

Statement in a post below.

I wholeheartedly disagree. To me, SAH is a choice. How is that going back to the 1950s, when a lot of women didn't have much of a choice.

Neither being on the honor roll nor perfect attendance require parents who "give a damn". Being on the honor roll can be achieved by a neglected child. All the attentiveness in the world on the parents' part is not going to help a child have perfect attendance if that child is sick. Unless you think keeping sick children home from school is somehow neglectful? Or perhaps you think truly attentive parents would be able to guarantee that a child is never sick?

Yes, but if they fall through the grate, they are no longer in the gutter. It's quite simple, really.

My kids already have their own computers; the school highly "suggested" it.

Careful, she doesn't have the time or patience to use the correct words when speaking to educated adults.

My kids aren't only given extra assingments - they are spending a large part of the day in a different classroom. Out of the 75 kids in their class, only 6 of the kids are in this extra class. They take the time out of their recess time, out of their "free time" in class so my kids are missing out on the chance to interat with their peers on that level. Awards simply for extra work is not what I have in mind. The awards my kids get for participating in this program makes up for the chance that they don't get the peer-to-peer interaction time that the other kids do.

I was talking HS - I thought your kids were in HS so I was commenting on our high school. My oldest is in the 5th grade and she doesn't receive letter grades either. The youngest don't either. I can't check their progress but the HS parents can.
