SAH doesn't support change,

"SAH doesn't support change, it supports going backwards to the 1950's,"
Statement in a post below.
I wholeheartedly disagree. To me, SAH is a choice. How is that going back to the 1950s, when a lot of women didn't have much of a choice.

Actually, I thought I was quoting you. I misread "bit much". That's what I get for posting while watching TV and carrying on a conversation with ds at the same time.
I don't feel anything towards you, much less a need to get anything off my chest. I just think apologies that explain how it's not really your fault aren't apologies at all.
The distinction between food and calories is irrelevant here. In fact, ignoring that distinction is pretty much the point. If it weren't, then why would the "diet wagon" even come into it?
I think the fact that SOME people might use the holidays to fall off the diet bandwagon has little to do with pebbles' post, and absolutely nothing to do with lois'. Pebble's comment was boorish. Period.
"I just think apologies that explain how it's not really your fault aren't apologies at all."
Did you expect me to think that a general comment would stir up feelings in Lois about a part of her life that I knew nothing about? That's kind of silly.
As far as you being a judge on apologies, I don't think you have that priviledge.
"Pebble's comment was boorish. Period."
Please explain to me what was "boorish". I made a general comment that the holiday traditions sometimes gives people the excuse to eat more food.
How is that boorish?
Yes. I'll admit I didn't re-open the thread to see who posted in it. I assumed you didn't know about it because you claimed it didn't exist. Therefore it seemed silly for me to open the thread and read who posted on it, or even if all the posts were on Sep. 11 or merely the last one. To disprove your claim that no one had made a 5th anniversary of Sep.11 thread, I merely had to show there was one. Why did you claim there was no such thread if you yourself posted in it?
Or did you think it didn't count as a 5th anniversary memorial thread because it was started a few days before the 5th anniversary?
I assumed you didn't know about the Personal Debates folder because if you had, you would have known about the 5th anniversary of Sep.11 thread contained within it. I based my assumption that you didn't know about it because you claimed that it was sad no such thread existed. It never occured to me that you would make such a claim after posting in that very thread, si I didn't re-open it to see who had posted.
What exactly did you feel "sad" about? That the thread was started somewhat before Sep.11 and therefore didn't count in your eyes as a memorial thread even though it was called "5 years later"?
"Why did you claim there was no such thread if you yourself posted in it?"
There was no post on that actual date.
"Or did you think it didn't count as a 5th anniversary memorial thread because it was started a few days before the 5th anniversary?"
Exactly. Also, the way the post was worded. It was a question as to "how life has changed for you" after 9/11. It was started over 2 weeks before. I added a post on the 11th with a candle.
Again, my point is that I responded to Lois with an emotion that I felt on this board, *which I didn't expect anyone to have known about because I had never posted about it before*. Just as she posted to me about an emotion that she felt about something personal about herself *which I didn't know anything about*.
"What exactly did you feel "sad" about?
Again this was a response to Lois about her post about her personal experience that I did not know anything about. I was telling her that I felt the same way on that day. No one knew anything about it, as I had never mentioned it, so why would I expect anyone to know?
"That the thread was started somewhat before Sep.11 and therefore didn't count in your eyes as a memorial thread even though it was called "5 years later"?"
That thread was not a memorial. It asked a specific question of how 9/11 had changed each poster's life or not. But, as another poster made me aware, most likely posters who were posting on these boards at that time (9/11) posted something on the original boards that they were on on that date (9/11).
