"SAH doesn't support change, it supports going backwards to the 1950's,"

Statement in a post below.

I wholeheartedly disagree. To me, SAH is a choice. How is that going back to the 1950s, when a lot of women didn't have much of a choice.

Perhaps you aren't familiar with the term clobber when it comes to sports?

Again with the "need". I have stated time and time again it is not a need...just a fun extra...on top of being creatively engaged by the teacher.

Wait...now you choose to read my words exactly and dwell on one word?

As a fun extra.

I guess it must be my kids because a plastic key chain is just really not a fun extra for them.

That's a mixed message indeed. "Children with fevers need to stay home...which jeopardizes our funding so try not to do it."

A weekend game? Oh, I'm so sorry to hear you didn't bond with your children.

Because some kids enjoy it. Because it gives some kids a kick start. And just because your kids don't think it's a fun extra doesn't mean others don't.

You aren't following your line of logic.

Because as I said for some kids it is an extra motivator. That doesn't mean the teacher isn't being creative, just that not all kids are the same and they all respond differently to different things. Some kids can go through their entire school experience and never need or want a single extra. For some kids, (even ones who are being creatively taught) a little tangible something helps them to feel that they are accomplishing something and it helps them get through something that they are having a harder time with. Since it is done in moderation, what is the big deal with giving it to all kids, and the kids that don't care, get rid of it, and the kids who do, they have been helped. As I have said a million times, it is not being done often enough or with big enough prizes to be hurting them.
