"SAH doesn't support change, it supports going backwards to the 1950's,"

Statement in a post below.

I wholeheartedly disagree. To me, SAH is a choice. How is that going back to the 1950s, when a lot of women didn't have much of a choice.

Oh no. I'm missing a steady paycheck, kissing up to a boss, trying to find a time and place to pump, drycleaning, running around, dealing with traffic, office drama, drunken Christmas parties, business meetings and trips... Oh gosh I'm missing out on so much. I'm never going to feel fulfilled as a person because I can't stand by the water cooler and gossip.

You're right, it's not...because that situation will never exist! You don't have to have a career and a degree to support yourself. I did so on my own without a career/degree. I've made small amounts of money go a long way. I can do it again. There's more than one way to plan for the future and more than one approach to handling undesirable turns in life. I really don't care how you think my plan B will work, because for one...it's my plan, and I know I'd do what I had to do and that I am perfectly capable of making money last. And secondly, it's never going to be needed. And when my husband does divorce me you can come say I told you so, K?

That's great, as long as you don't confuse femininity with any particular role in life.

In my hometown of Goose Creek, SC, you can get a THREE bedroom apartment for $510. The place I lived, three years ago, was $600 for a 2-bed-room, but it was in Charleston, SC a few minutes away. ;)

I don't. However, nothing makes me feel more feminine than being covered in baby drool. And the only thing I like better than Brad Pitt shirtless is a man wearing a baby. Now that is the epitome of masculinity for me. :)

PS. Okay, maybe the sexy new dress I got on sale at the mall two weeks ago makes me feel more feminine than anything else, actually, now that I think about it. And Corey is coming home tomorrow SO I GET TO WEAR IT!!!

Nope - "might not" isn't the same as "can't" - but anyway, it's no more of a blanket statement than the claim that WOHP's might "miss a lot".

Actually I've never agreed with the notion that taking a few years off from ones career will have a huge negative impact. The difference being, one has to actually have a career in the first place in order to take off a few years.

I think there is a huge difference in a person with work experience and education taking some time off, because if something happened and they *had* to find work, the education and experience they have will stand them in good stead. A person staying home with neither education or significant job experience might well find themselves working as a stripper if they had to go back to work.
