"SAH doesn't support change, it supports going backwards to the 1950's,"

Statement in a post below.

I wholeheartedly disagree. To me, SAH is a choice. How is that going back to the 1950s, when a lot of women didn't have much of a choice.

Oh come on, everyone's special in that sense! LOL. What I mean is not special as in actual worth, but "special" as in "I'm better than everyone else". I think that too many people with college degrees think it means something other than taking classes for 4 years and getting a piece of paper. I don't really see my education getting me anything other than the ability to get a better job. I'm certainly not learning anything I couldn't pick up reading a book on my own.

Ah, but don't you think that often people who spend a lot of time around other people in suits and buildings would think that? How much diversity in types of employment do you really experience? Living where I do, I know a lot of people who make great livings doing innovative things without a degree. It's really not that important unless you want to get certain type of job.

If that's the case, I question whether your educational institution is actually doing what it's paid to do.

After all, we could all learn the content of so many more books in 16 years without the time spent driving to and from school, listening to teachers or professors, attending lectures and labs, taking tests, and discussing ideas with our peers.

That's too bad. My deducation involved a lot more than getting a piece of paper, and I learned a lot that I couldn't have learned from reading a book.

Then you're not going to a very good school.

Does anyone you know who makes a "great living" without a degree do something other than work in or own a blue collar

I am, but my husband isn't. Excuse me. My husband has chosen to just become a civilian and included me on the decision. Is that better?
