I agree. Everytime I read about Grim and her obsession about role modeling, I certainly don't think about SAH, WOH, doctors, and CEO's; I think about the marriage she is modeling for her girls. And I cringe.

I predict there will never be a divorce. In a few months, Grim's dh will present her with a beautiful book of love poems and she will forgive all. She would never do anything to lower her beloved, hardearned SES.

No, what Grim's been saying all along is that since the SAHM doesn't make a contribution the WOHM can't/doesn't then she doesn't make a contribution.

Why, thank you. I do hope you are right. I still have to combat my "give my child everything" DH, you know, LOL.

(Again, I do believe a large part of my "overkill" issue with $ is that I have so little desire to spend, not that I have so much of it.)

Getting to know you has been very humbling...I wish I had as little desire as you do to spend it.

Why can't you show your son options, you ask? Because no one in Whoville is capable of learning anything positive from someone whose genitalia does not match their own!

I fully understand this philosophy, which Arnold Schwarzenegger more succinctly put as "stay hungry".

LOL, I have a Bible study friend who says I'm a Buddhist who just doesn't know it. I don't know enough about Buddhism to comment, but her husband is, so she could be right. I didn't think Buddhists were supposed to be as cantankerous as I am, though.

Thank you. I'd like to think so anyway....

This topic is just like religion, politics and abortion..... You will never get everyone on the same page...

Both sides have valid points, everyone has to make the decision that is best for them.... The beauty of it is, you can change that at any time.... Life changes and so can your ideas of what's best for your family...

Raising children is the biggest and most rewarding job I've ever had... Good luck to everyone....Working or Not!!!!

They're better off than average, that's for sure and they're way better off than they'd be if I SAH.
