Ouch! Isn't it amazing what a pair of shoes can do to our bodies? If I could get my feet massaged daily, I would be in total heaven. Heels and my feet never see each other except for the rare special occassion. I always wore them because I'm only 5'2 and I always liked being taller. Now I don't care, but my feet suffered dearly.

They aren't left alone long enough to have a bowel movement.

No thanks (unless you're willing to cater to them while they're cranky, then I'll have at it).

It's just a matter of perspective.

"Sometimes I feel that God has given me the childhood I never had."

I've already had my own blissful childhood, so I'm intent on having the fulfilled adult life my mother never achieved.

I have a fulfilled adult life. Why would you think otherwise? And why do you put a perjorative spin on my feeling that God has given me back my childhood through my son? Can I not acknowledge something that is indeed precious to me?

I understood you perfectly and I think it was a beautiful post. Your son IS a lucky boy.

But not everyone sees having a fulfilled adult life in the same way you do.

Im not sure p&j meant it that way. *I* took it as she was lucky enough to have a good childhood, and will continue into her adulthood, something her own mom didnt live to experience and you have worked so hard to create for yourself. I think she is in agreement with you.

Personally, I am always impressed with how you have conciously taken the bull by the horns and are very "deliberate" as to how you treat your son on a daily basis. sometimes i think *I* get personally lost in taking it all for granted and let the "deliberateness" of being kind get away from me, and lose my temper with my children more often than i would have liked.

kudos to you and how lucky your little guy truly is!!
