Why do you insist on confusing "can't manage" with "don't believe it's the right thing to do"? You do realize, don't you, that some women actually consider it a sacrifice to SAH? That some of them would like to work but SAH because they believe it to be in the best interest of the families? You continue to imagine that there are all of these poor, put-upon, spineless husbands out there who are forced to work because their wives refuse to. There are many men out there who support a SAHP as much as their wives do.

You act like SAHMs get some sort of free ride.

YOur a hoot! Yes, my salary COULD provide for my dd & myself. Why did you think otherwise? ROFL

Yes, I manage quite nicely being a WOHM. Nice try, but you are so wrong it isn't even funny!

My husband & I decided that my salary would be our play money. But yes, I could easily live alone & pay the mtg, bills and still have money left over to live life & have fun.

So you admit it, you actually are part of the problem, rather than part of the solution.

So I assume you hold the stereotype that "people without medical degrees don't make good doctors"?

My dd is in school. I'm a Kindergarten teacher.

We don't have to go in on snow days because of the hazardous road conditions & the school closes for students, administrative staff, & teachers. Guess this is not something you are accustomed to in your area? But it is common here. Snow days happen every school calendar year. Rare when they do not.

I take it you have no rebuttal then?

Huh? I'm not sure I even get what you're saying anymore. Or, rather, I'm not sure I believe even you believe what you're saying rather than just trying to stir the pot. But let's just play along. I guess I am part of a perceived problem in some people's minds -- not any people I know IRL, mind you -- that women will quit when they have babies. If that's a problem, then so be it. I happen to think it's an admirable thing to do and, if I were to work when I don't have to just to get my kicks, I think *that* would be a big problem for my family. And if I were to WOH just to avoid feeding somebody else's idea of what constitutes a problem...that would be asinine.

You're right. They don't care. The stereoptype is that 50 yr old engineers quit to retire. I guess thats what they'll assume she does. You have no idea what a stereotype is, do you?
