That was not intended to be a personal insult. It is surprising to me that men who are now the age you were then would not have a tad more understanding AND hold the parties truly responsible for them, responsible. How is that insulting anyway?

Then there were the endless threads about her dd's piano lessons, about her marriage, now her career. Is anyone else seeing a pattern here?

So in other words, you have no arguement, know you don't, but hate that fact that you don't, beyond all reason. I'm sorry - but its not my fault you have no confidence in your own life decisions.

The fact remains...not as well as your husband. Which is why you all don't give a fig about whether you contribute, or not.

When I was in college, I knew several of my professors had worked in their chosen field before "retraining" to be professors - my economics prof, my business law prof, my computer science prof - and guess what? they were all women. along with others that I didn't have any classes with, so glk would just be another woman that came to be a teacher, not an engineer that came to be a teacher.

I realize that. Dh & I talk how lucky we fill that we don't have to use my income as living expense money. It is really helping now with gutting the kitchen & installing new cabinets, I knew that would be expensive, but just not how much!

I love teaching, it is the only thing I can imagine doing when I do work. I will be starting up another year of kindergarten soon & I'm already anticipating meeting those little new faces & spending the year with them. I love meeting the parents & getting to know them. I usually have the whole class & their parents over for a cookout the first weekend after school begins.

The money is coming in handy with this remodeling we are doing. We can really do what we want & not have to cut corners thanks to my teaching salary.

I think we are lucky when we can do this.

Cost of living isn't bad down here in Georgia compared to other places.

So why did your husband get HIS way, and his wife didn't get HER way?

My salary isn't as great as his but it is a really good salary. It is affording us the opportunity to remodel an old home precisely the way we want it down to every little detail & we are not having to give up anything we wish for in this house.

That is a nice little thing when I go look at restaurant quality appliances, high end fabrics & furniture, and solid cherry cabinets with the best of granites for countertops.

So you can snarl your nose all you want, my salary does benefit dh & I in ways other than paying mtg and bills.

I think it is a good thing not all women feel as you do about life. You & Grimal have a weird view on things, but you are welcome to your view. Not saying that. It is just two I've never encountered IRL.
