What's your question? All I'm saying is that while I appreciate your supposed concern about my family's lifestyle and the trouble I'm causing my dh, you needn't worry. Although I earned quite a good living, my taking a break for a few years has not negatively affected our lifestyle in the least. We wouldn't have done this if we couldn't afford it.
>>What I meant was all living expenses come solely from him.<<
So do you have separate accounts - one for living expenses and one for "play money" (I believe you used this term) or how exactly does this work? Why is it important to you, and to him, that his income pays for your family's living expenses and yours does not?
Your financial arrangement reminds me of another poster's . . . I'm not sure if she's still around, but I didn't really understand her's either.

When I went to college to become a teacher I didn't ever think of sah short or long term, with or without kids. It just happened to be I was lucky enough to try it and lo & behold found I like it.

We have 2 joint accounts. His salary goes into the bank account things like bills & groceries are paid from.
My salary goes into the other account for us to use however we choose. Him or me. Doesn't matter who spends what or how much.
This is just how we did it when I went back to work after having been off when we first married. We sat down & said ok, this is what we will use my salary to do, and we went & opened up an account just for that.
My parents have always had two joint accounts & Mom says they do ours the same as we do ours.
So in other words, you are such a dedicated teacher, and love teaching so much, that you'd quit in a heart beat for the chance to strip wallpaper. Thats what I thought.
There is pride in taking a home & totally remodeling it. It was a great accomplishment & a good deal of fun but hard work getting to the finished product.
I do love to teach. That is why I teach today. That is why I went to school to become a teacher. But I love to do other things. I'm not one sided.
Who says you have to get your degree, go to work, and work until retirement age or at least a good 20 to 25 years? You?
Why can't a woman have a little bit of both mixed together? I see nothing wrong with it.
Choose your friends by their character and your socks by their color. Choosing your socks by their character makes no sense and choosing your friends by their color is unthinkable.
