Personally, I enjoy it.

Oh, I'm not talking about having a problem with doing the actual work. I did all that when I was a single mom. But having a dh who felt he had no (or vey little) responsiblity to the upkeep of our household or to the care of our children would be a very serious issue for me.

And they follow this rule? Or do you deal with month-old piles of dirty socks? *curious*

I think I'm going to start looking around for one of those- I think DD would probably be really happy with one of them... She loved her front packs/slings until she got too big for them...

I love my backpack... it's a Kelty, and we bought it when DS was little. It fit him until he was at least 4, but after that he wanted to walk. It is incredibly comfortable to wear, and they both loved it. It would be a little unweildy for indoor use, as it is made for backpacking... but it was one of the better purchases we ever made. Definitely worth the money.

Yeah- unless the other person is of the mind to just go to Walmart, shell out $5 and get *new* socks... And then the other person *still* has to put up with the socks, *plus* an ever growing *new* pile of them. And personally? I'd rather not deal with the disgusting display or aroma... It's far easier and more pleasant for me to just toss them into the wash in a timely manner.

That sounds really fun... I haven't come across anything like that around here- but maybe by the time my kids are older..... Around here pretty much all they *have* is "parents-in-the-lobby" sort of places (they have big glass windows for viewing, but still... No active participation- although parents can choose to take classes with the kids in some areas.)

And when do the kids learn responsibility for their own clothes? Or will they be expecting their spouses to pick them up for them 30 years from now?

My approach is somewhere in the middle. I just say "It's laundry pick up time, everyone bring your dirty laundry into the laundry room please!" And they do it.

"I never clean my house except throw dishes in the dishwasher when my children are awake."
