Wow? You didn't know that your five year old had an immense capacity for learning? I thought we all knew that babies and small children have immense capacities for learning, which is why we care so much about what goes on in those early years.

You mean you believe it's the same as there is no one right and true way for any of this.

<< "Because working is just something I do, not who I am."

this is what was said >>

Right...and you disagreed with that? Why? Do you think she's lying? Did she say "working is something everyone does, not who they are?" She was talking about herself, not you. Obviously your work is ingrained into your life (and kudos for doing it BTW, it takes a special type of person to run a farm/ranch) but it isn't in hers, or mine. It has no bearing on the type of parent I am.

The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four Americans is suffering from some form of mental illness. Think of your three best friends. If they're okay, then it's you.

Yes my 4th grader is above and beyond his years he is reading on a 10th grade level his math skills are over and above my comprehention algebra geometry ect ect his science and social study skills the same i could go on and on i feel he will end up lacking common sense b/c of his iq so I have removed him and his younger brother who is also advanced not as advanced as his older brother from school to unschool him...he works at his own pace and focuses on other things than academics. It is working out well and he is still way ahead of his time.

My first grader is having a hard time in school she is young she started kdg at 5 perhaps i made the wrong choice and the concepts she is working on imo should be what a third grader should be doing.

Im not a pusher and iam a firm believer in allowing children to be children...so much is expected from children now days and i have to wonder where all of this is really gonna get all kids does that make sense?

She didn't accuse you of being a deliberate liar. She asked why you were lying. Semantics I guess, but I saw the difference.

Movin' on. :-)

i guess that this is the best illustration there is for this argument. if there were, where there is, a lower-el school environment that does not closely resemble good daycare, the school environment is horribly inappropriate. so, yes, some schools might be something entirely different, but that's not normal or good.

Did you read what i said...teachers are not DCP no where does it say that teachers do not provide care for children DCP and caring for children are two different things i care for children who are not mine but iam not a dcp and like i just said it should be common sense that educators care for children they are teachers i did not realize i had to verify that when i posted the first few times.

there are a dozen of post's where i expounded my views...

Perhaps post those instead
