Is the SAHM the new status symbol?
| Tue, 09-23-2003 - 10:36pm |
In the 70's and 80's women fought to get into the workforce (the whole Ms. magazine generation)...and then the tide turned in the late 1990's when more women started to stay home by choice. Now, it seems like being a SAHM is a status symbol....and superior to being a working mom.

Some don't, like silverunity's employees, but that doesn't make it right.
This is too LLM..First of dont threaten our buisness. I have nothing to do with it and I had no idea if and when this has became a actual Law...From the last time I knew we made our employess report 15% of what they make when I was working it was 8%...As I see now after i actually read all the links in dh's files on line that is now a misconception. when did this come about and when??
OK-- sorry for being a little mean, but I just had to take a swing at it...
Anyhoo, I'm not sure WHEN this became a law. But when I was waitressing back in the early 90s we still had to report 100% of our tip income. I think you made a snide comment about how I haven't been in the business for a while . . . well, some things HAVEN'T changed - like reporting all your income.
Just make sure your employees report all their tips to you, b/c you could be in a heap of trouble (as well as them) if you don't.
