Is the SAHM the new status symbol?

In the 70's and 80's women fought to get into the workforce (the whole Ms. magazine generation)...and then the tide turned in the late 1990's when more women started to stay home by choice. Now, it seems like being a SAHM is a status symbol....and superior to being a working mom.

You mean you don't remember everyone saying that there was no way you lived in your house in CT and you couldn't possibly live your life? I wasn't one of those people, all I'm saying is it is funny YOU are telling someone their life is impossible when you were on the receiving end of that crap at one time. I don't think your life is impossible.

You go girl. Of course you've always had to report all of your income.

We generally do too. Unless the service is really bad, then only 10%.

In June of 2002 i just found out it is being fought through the legal system now however...and i was totally ignorant to all of it, I sure my dh is doing this all legally or i should hope so when we opened our precentage was 15% i believe and every employee had to sign a paper. I have never reported all my income as a server i think the most i have ever claimed was 12% and my emplyees never insisted on it.

I am gonna ask around here and see if places are actually doing this.

So i stand corrected here and I had no clue...imagine LOL! IAM WRONG~~~ Sorry all but it is fun to stir the pot~

See what happens when your around horses and kids all day.

I think this may be a language barrier issue. It sounds to me like what she really means is you *pay* less taxes on tips, not report less of it.
