Is the SAHM the new status symbol?

In the 70's and 80's women fought to get into the workforce (the whole Ms. magazine generation)...and then the tide turned in the late 1990's when more women started to stay home by choice. Now, it seems like being a SAHM is a status symbol....and superior to being a working mom.

I dunno its origin, but I remember some commercial (although what it was for is beyond me) where some old geezer guy says it...and I don't even remember WHY he says it, but it has always cracked me up and I love the term :)

How do you determine which waitress gets the $50?

What a snotty attitude about waitressing! Yes, I have done it a few years during the holiday season. I did it fun & some blowing money. Sorry you have such a distaste for waitressing.

Oh.. it's real easy after Thanksgiving - we pick the one who looks like she hasn't sat down in 5 hours, looks as though she is picking up slack for others, and still performs her job.

Sources (as in verifiable, independent sources that consist of more than, "I said so"? Sorry, I flat out don't believe that someone who claims a degraded ability to comprehend the English language *and* a limited time spent in the US is the best non-substantiated source for US legal codes regarding divorce, since they differ widely from state to state.

No, but I really don't give it much thought. Maybe I should recycle, but I don't. We don't water the lawn very much at all. Washing the vans is done at a car wash, not weekly either. It isn't that my dh soesn't care, or I, it just isn't something we think about. S.V.
