Is the SAHM the new status symbol?

In the 70's and 80's women fought to get into the workforce (the whole Ms. magazine generation)...and then the tide turned in the late 1990's when more women started to stay home by choice. Now, it seems like being a SAHM is a status symbol....and superior to being a working mom.

Ahem, yes, I know that. It's the kind of work they do that doesn't mesh, but you know what, don't let me stop you. If you want us all to believe that your fabulously wealthy husband knows no greater joy than knocking himself out at a demanding job working long hours for someone else in their hotel then fine, sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

It impresses me how my dh, his father, his grandfather all are about the working thing.

No. My dh wants me to lead my life as I desire. It isn't frowned upon if the women choose not to have careers.

Ah yes, "the working thing" is so very admirable, isn't it? Well, at least for men it is. What is it that the women do? Besides showering that is?

Your choosing to be obnoxious & not believe me is of no concern. I think it is really bad that you have an attitude that only certain careers for certain people & no one should get out of their boundaries. Thanks. Your postings are truly ignorant on the subject.
