Is the SAHM the new status symbol?

In the 70's and 80's women fought to get into the workforce (the whole Ms. magazine generation)...and then the tide turned in the late 1990's when more women started to stay home by choice. Now, it seems like being a SAHM is a status symbol....and superior to being a working mom.

FYI: my point with the "shower posts" is that 3x daily is an excessive waste of water. Same with doing sheets/towels daily. Not necessary and its wasteful. I know *you* don't think so, but believe me, future generations will.

I'm so glad your DH got a good laugh out of this. The environment absolutely cracks me up too!

And those goals are? An excessively clean home?

In some people's eyes, I may be more shallow. Is that so bad?

We all have different criteria for what we deem to be "shallow."

Is your opinion that we will have an infinite supply of water or that it doesn't matter if we run out resources years from now?

I want my house excessively clean yes. But that is only a minute part of the whole big picture of life for me and dh.

Oh, so then you don't employ a nanny, you get a babysitter once in awhile like the rest of us mortals.

Surely you understand my confusion with your use of the pretentious term of "nanny" for your babysitter. A nanny is employed on a regular schedule typically with a minimum of 20 hours a week, and gets a salary. You don't have a nanny, anymore than your "lawn technician" is the guy who mows your lawn.

Too funny!
