Is the SAHM the new status symbol?
| Tue, 09-23-2003 - 10:36pm |
In the 70's and 80's women fought to get into the workforce (the whole Ms. magazine generation)...and then the tide turned in the late 1990's when more women started to stay home by choice. Now, it seems like being a SAHM is a status symbol....and superior to being a working mom.

If you make more than $20 a month in tips you must report ALL your tips to your employer. All tips are income and must be reported on your tax return. What kind of business are you running????
As the employer, you're supposed to figure out whether your employees are reporting 8% of gross receipts as their tip income. If they're reporting LESS than this amount to you, you allocate the difference between what they reported to you and the 8%. This shows up as additional income on their W-2. Is THIS the percentage you're talking about??
Hope the IRS doesn't catch wind of this.

And I'm curious - didn't your mom raise you to want a little bit more out of life? Mine sure did, may she rest in peace.
