Just wondering if any other stay at home Moms ever worry about the future and what if's? I have been thinking about this alot lately and I guess what makes it a lot worse is the thought of turning 40 my next Birthday. We have a 6 1/2 year old Daughter that we homeschool,I have not held a Teaching job for over 1 years now, and I think wow what if something happened to my husband? I am not in the best health either so I am not sure if I could actually hold down a steady job and my health seems to get worse the older I get. I love being at home and have no desires to hold down a job, but gets scary thinking about the future. I am a Christian and even though I know we are not suppose to worry about tommorow I can't help, but worry worry worry. Just wondering if I am alone in my thinking. My husband says NO NO NO to me working. I can't even mention it without him getting upset by it. Tricia

If you're not in the best of health then you'd be entitled to disability.

I don't mean to be crude, but, he has life insurance right? That's what that is for..the "what if's in the future." If you're not in the best of health then you'd be entitled to disability.

One thing that stood out in your comment was that you are happy and home and have no desire to hold down a job.

I like pp's suggestions about taking some classes to keep current.

If you're really stressing about this, then go back to work.
