For all the stay at home moms, yes I'm one of them. I have one question, do you plan on going back to work once all of your children are in Elementary school? Or do you like staying at home and have decided to never work again? I am just curious, my husband and I have talked about it. I am mainly home just for my kids, to be here when they come home from school is nice, but, I tend to get bored easly, so I have decided once my 3 year old enters into Elementary school, I will be going back to work. I have thought and thought about this, my husband is fine if I decide not to work or if I decide to go back and work. We are financially stable so I can choose to stay home if I want. I would be working so i won't be bored, while the kids are at school all day long. I do plan on working part time, so i can be home when they get home from school. I'm not the type to sit around and do nothing all day, right now my kids are home half the day at least my 5 year old is, so I have her, and my youngest to be home for. I just can't envision myself sitting here all day long with no children around, going gee what do i do now, ain't gonna happen.
I'm done rambling, waiting for replies!!!!

then why isn't your dh an elementary school teacher.....better yet,why aren't *more* men elementary teachers?
i stand behind my point. men (professionally speaking wrt teaching at the elementary level) can't nor want to handle a child < the age of 10ish the way women can.
elementary is so much more than reading, writing and 'rithmatic.

One of the reasons that more men aren't elementary teachers is attitudes like yours. Another is the low pay.
What is it about women that makes them more able to teach young children in your view?

I don't think I said otherwise. All your points strike me as entirely true. I believe the MC can suddenly appear where it wasn't before, and that it can also lie dormant years before the breakup, unacknowledged by either or both parties.
My sole purpose in bringing it up was to refute the idea that the MC can always be clearly seen before it comes out. Imo opinion, a partner who denies it could ever happen to her/him might ***sometimes*** be wrong, both in the sense that it already *has* happened in one way or another, and in the sense that it still *could* happen. That's what seems to make some people mad.
so you think *more* men should step up to the plate, regardless of what they know their limitations are...is that what you're saying lois?
i think american schools speak for themselves wrt where the men are......i will embrace the day my child is educated by a man. i just don't think it belongs at the elementary level.

So doing laundry and cleaning up after your family members is "almost nill "?

IMO, more men teach older kids (middle school, high school) because the pay is better. I don't think it has much to do with men being incapable of dealing with young children.

What are men's limitations that make them less suitable to teach at the elementary school level?
Is it the same thing that makes all women lawyers and doctors "women libbers"?
