For all the stay at home moms, yes I'm one of them. I have one question, do you plan on going back to work once all of your children are in Elementary school? Or do you like staying at home and have decided to never work again? I am just curious, my husband and I have talked about it. I am mainly home just for my kids, to be here when they come home from school is nice, but, I tend to get bored easly, so I have decided once my 3 year old enters into Elementary school, I will be going back to work. I have thought and thought about this, my husband is fine if I decide not to work or if I decide to go back and work. We are financially stable so I can choose to stay home if I want. I would be working so i won't be bored, while the kids are at school all day long. I do plan on working part time, so i can be home when they get home from school. I'm not the type to sit around and do nothing all day, right now my kids are home half the day at least my 5 year old is, so I have her, and my youngest to be home for. I just can't envision myself sitting here all day long with no children around, going gee what do i do now, ain't gonna happen.

I'm done rambling, waiting for replies!!!!

You just have to keep in mind that just because someone has a maid, a nanny, and a SAHS doesn't mean they have any less work around the home to do than someone who has none of those things. Duh.

You think wrong. I have met far too many outstanding male elementary teachers to entertain such a silly statement.

Hmm, I just thought it was hilarious. I went back and read it a few times just for the chuckle. But now that you point out that ikat just wrote it because she's jealous of my glamorous lifestyle, well I'm liking it even more! Bet I could really push her over the edge if she knew I had one of those coveted California gardeners.... (I suppose you would have to have met nice old Eduardo to fully get the sarcasm in this post)

Exactly. It may not represent "the money card" to everyone, but it does mean that if I want to keep what I have, I'd better preserve my marriage or find someone else who has certain qualifications, while he doesn't really need me as much for that purpose.

I think I mentioned SAH/WOH couples as being especially vulnerable to the presence or the use of the MC because of the income imbalance inherent in their situation. I also mentioned that you can't tell about the MC based on work status alone. I also mentioned that the MC can appear just about anywhere, while imo it's less likely to come up where both partners earn a good income.

But since it's you, please let me know when you think of something else to call me out on ;-)

While it sounds like, from your discription, I wouldn't drive by and ooooh and aaah over the houses by the golf course in your post, I do ooooh and aaaah over historical homes and take every opportunty to tour the insides. In fact, I'm going to do just that this Mother's Day.
