SAHM's and Money

I am a WOHM but have always felt like this, even as a kid. I know it is probably wrong, but it is a strong feeling I have had.
When SAHM's say "I bought this or "I saved MY money for this", I always want to say "YOUR" money? Now, don't get me wrong, my mom was a SAHM and a great one at that but she would get spending money every week, just like I do, while working, but I can't feel technically that it was "HER" money.
Staying home is a hard job, being home today I can say that it is much harder to have a stressful out of the house job AND have kids but it is more physically demanding then my job.
I just feel that any money in the household has been made by the dh and is really "HIS" all the time. He just gives it to his wife to spend. I know this is horrible but I was wondering if anyone else felt this way?

Maybe it was HIS party for work...we had one of those a few weeks ago and you bet I put DH to work around here to get the place ready for the party.

You do have kids, right? Do you think most kids are born self-sufficient? What do you think you do with a baby for 8 hours a day. Sit on your a** eating bon bons while little junior cooks, cleans and feeds himself?

Get real. If we were having a party (and really we only have family & friends type of parties), my dh would be cleaning right along with me. That is not an everyday type of chore. When I sah, he still took out the trash, did outside type of work, some laundry and cooked one night a week and one night on the weekend.

No that I work, we split it more.

If I want the toilet bowl clean both inside and outside and the pee drops off the floor, all at the same time, then I have to do it myself.

OT but I found out I'm a "super taster" - explains why I can't stand brussels sprouts and why I can take or leave chocolate!

I guess you are lucky to both make very good money to be able to save alot. We will be saving more next year when my lease is up.
I have 2 kids in care, almost $200/week so that eats up almost all our money and we are trying to pay down our cc bills so we can have extra there too.
