SAHM's and Money

I am a WOHM but have always felt like this, even as a kid. I know it is probably wrong, but it is a strong feeling I have had.
When SAHM's say "I bought this or "I saved MY money for this", I always want to say "YOUR" money? Now, don't get me wrong, my mom was a SAHM and a great one at that but she would get spending money every week, just like I do, while working, but I can't feel technically that it was "HER" money.
Staying home is a hard job, being home today I can say that it is much harder to have a stressful out of the house job AND have kids but it is more physically demanding then my job.
I just feel that any money in the household has been made by the dh and is really "HIS" all the time. He just gives it to his wife to spend. I know this is horrible but I was wondering if anyone else felt this way?

Well, I never said that he doesn't do anything inside the house. He is the cook. I hate to cook. He will also do whatever needs to be done inside the house. OTOH, I won't do any outside work. So, I guess I'm the slacker. Maybe he should read the book!

Why sah? because I value being with my children during the day.

Must be genetic - that's very young to stop napping.

I can't imagine how exhausted you must have been with 4 young kids and no nap breaks.

My DS has a similar habit. When I ask him a question, say about something on the computer, the answer I'm hoping for is "click here", and the answer I get is 20 minutes on the history of computers, and then "click here". He always thinks it's important for me to understand the why, and I think so . . . not so much.

I think you are right. Dh and I both have little need for sleep. We usually go to bed around 11:30 and get up around 5:00 a.m. Fortunately I am usually pretty energetic although there have been times that I wanted to collapse.

I know there's got to be some genetic component to sleep, because Peter is a light, restless sleeper who needs slightly less than average for his age (just like me) and Joey sleeps a lot and heavily like DH.

You need to stop generalizing about situations based on your limited experience.

I never had anyone stay with me with my first. The only reason my mother stayed with me for the second was b/c I had a small stroke during delivery and needed help with my oldest while recovering.

How do you know most people have help?

Well I don't know if you are common with daycare but ours has very good food for the kids. They have it from a catered company and it is hot lunch everyday. I was always satisfied with the food.
Breakfast-cold cereal or pancakes, waffles for french toast with fruit, muffins with fruit.
Lunch-different everyday, includes all food groups.
Snack-different everyday, not junk.
