SAHM's and Money

I am a WOHM but have always felt like this, even as a kid. I know it is probably wrong, but it is a strong feeling I have had.
When SAHM's say "I bought this or "I saved MY money for this", I always want to say "YOUR" money? Now, don't get me wrong, my mom was a SAHM and a great one at that but she would get spending money every week, just like I do, while working, but I can't feel technically that it was "HER" money.
Staying home is a hard job, being home today I can say that it is much harder to have a stressful out of the house job AND have kids but it is more physically demanding then my job.
I just feel that any money in the household has been made by the dh and is really "HIS" all the time. He just gives it to his wife to spend. I know this is horrible but I was wondering if anyone else felt this way?

Your weather isn't that much different than mine. We're only a matter of about 200 miles apart. I've taken 3 kids, all under the age of 7, to go grocery shopping for our family of (then) 5.

And I wouldn't compare Swedish bad weather to southern CA "bad" weather. There is no comparasion at all.

Add in stopping him from climbing up the shelves to investigate what's on the top shelf and you have Dylan. I can't believe I found another family with similar experiences.

What about spouses that are divorced? The spouse that pays child support and alimony...is that money his or is it hers when she gets it? So in our case I had the house before we married. We sold it and bought this one. The dowpayment came from the sale of my home. I have been a SAHM since before we moved here. Who's house is this? The money we put down still outweighs the amount he has paid over the last 6 years. Is it mine until he has paid more than me?

Maybe there's more of a chance of you getting into an accident on a rain slicked road with your 2 precious children in the car.

That might be another reason why I wouldn't venture out in the rain with 2 young children. The weather will eventually clear up so that I can go out and pick up a carton of milk and some eggs.

That you, missy, need to get off your butt and take those kids to the grocery store in a monsoon to prove that you're:

SUPER MOM!!!

Thank you. I just did not want to sound snotty and act like the other lady did not know anything, just because she does not have kids. I HATED when people said that to me when I did not have kids. You can know some things about kids even if you don't have them, but there are other things you just won't know about until you have them.

I suspect that if it were possible, we'd have had that issue, too.LOL Part of what's so exhausting about Joel is that because of his physical limitations, a lot of his excess energy is channeled thru his mouth. (I know, that sounds kinda terrible, but it's true!) I suppose we could call him a verbal shelf-climber. ;-)
