I was just at the gym this morning and overheard a conversation between two women on treadmills who were discussing/debating as to whether married sahms were any more or less likely to have affairs than married wohms.
I thought it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on this.

Choose your friends by their character and your socks by their color. Choosing your socks by their character makes no sense and choosing your friends by their color is unthinkable.

In usage, "epitome" is less "typical example" and more "ultimate example" or "pinnacle" - closer to the "embodiment" part of the definition you conveniently omitted.
I'm curious, though - if you believe epitome to be what you say, then you don't believe that cheating is immoral? That cheating is not a "typical example" of an immoral behavior? Interesting.
Money is a pretty strong want for a lot of people. That doesn't mean taking someone else's is OK.
Besides, what does "understandable" mean in this context, if not condone?
