I am a teacher and I have never said anything about mosm needing to stay at home w/their kids...I do say parents need to get their $hi# together and prioritize but isn't a little contradictory for a teacher (obviously a working parent) to say something like that?

And I'm afraid we haven't seen the worst of it.

I'm not sure how you can disagree with my experience. ;) In any case, I agree that there is little connection between good parenting and work status.

Or maybe your kids will pleasantly surprise her.

She's a school secretary.

I've been in teaching for almost 20 years. I know some that sah for awhile and then came back. Most of those I know have been teaching as wohms.

i've NEVER heard that comment. EVER. Having well-behaved kids has NOTHING to do with whether or not mom works or sah. It's all part of GOOD PARENTING.

Good teachers can recognize parents that do it well -- and parents that are marginal -- and parents that, frankly, suck at it. However, it's not tied to work status in any way.
