I am wondering about this too. I know quite a few people who work or worked in spite of personal fortunes that would allow them to do nothing.

When I was a kid, it was common for kids of SAHMs to go to daycare, at least PT. Our daycare was right across the street from our house and they had really neat tricycles there, as I remember it.

Good question, I would also add then why do some sahps have regular part time sitters?
