SAH/WOH - Why?
| Mon, 02-20-2006 - 7:41am |
I am sure this has been done before but I was wondering this in light of recent posts lately.
Why did you decide to sah/woh?
Was it a choice or something expected of you?
Was your plan to sah/woh though out or impulsive? Long-term or short-term?

It's childish to ask you to support what you actually said?

Are the tanks the same size?

***The national average is 12K. So when you work, you are clocking 3x that much.***
According to AAA average mileage is 12K-15K. Yes I do clock that much. So?
***And you claim your teens will be clocking 3x that much.***
Where did I say that?
***There are definitely people who are doing more than you are. I have to say, you really fit the stereotype of an suv driver.***
Really? What are your thoughts on a poor couple driving an older car? I posted a link that debunked the theory that the SUV is the big meanie you think it is. I also drive an SUV like I do rather than a large truck. Most people in my line of work drive large trucks. Those are much worse than what I drive. They still utilize those trucks. I don't have an issue with it.
***It's childish to ask you to support what you actually said? This is from someone who went on and on about asking for proof about the law of supply and demand? Ah huh, I guess what you mean is that it's okay when you ask for proof but not when someone asks the very same of you?***
No it is a fun way of taking what one says absolutely. That is the issue. I said my truck has lower emissions than your minivan. That site didn't say that when the older vans were tested. I wonder if your van was tested today it would have the same readings. I have always read that the older the car the higher the emissions go. I didn't ask for proof of supply and demand. You must be confused.
***What link? Yes it shows that there are cars on the road worse than an suv, but again, that's not what we were discussing either. An suv has a large impact on the environment, contrary to your belief that it doesn't.***
I posted several links to you a while back. The theory that SUV's are horrible was debunked.
***A small sedan wouldn't fit me and the boys just fine....it's too small.***
Why is it too small? You have 4 people in your family right? A nice Honda civic seats 4.
***Plus I drive carpool, with children who have lots of sports equipment, all wouldn't fit into a small sedan and since my car has relatively middle of the road emissions and had pretty good ones when we purchased it was the best choice. I don't drive something that is too big for my family. Now if I drove a suburban or something, that would be too big for my family.***
You drive carpool everyday? You are the one worried about emissions and the environment. If you were really that concerned you would have yourself a Hybrid..even though they haven't really proved themselves worthy of the extra money or a small sedan. Oh what the heck grab yourself a nice Honda Accord. Those are nice a spacious. Nice size trunk too. That should hold all that equipment.
***Yes....and? Since you tend to put on many more miles than I do in such a short time, I would think that yours emission rating would be even worse than the standard listed...***
Yes I do. I also utilize my truck. For the line of work that I do a Honda Civic will not hold the items I need for my work. I could drive a 4 door large F350 or F250. Those would work too. However I don't like the fuel consumption on those so I opt for the smaller SUV.
***That is not the way all of your posts are reading. But then again, you also said that your suv has better emissions than my older van, which wasn't true.***
Oh so now it is how you are reading them? I guess you just didn't read the word MY. That is fine.
