I am sure this has been done before but I was wondering this in light of recent posts lately.

Why did you decide to sah/woh?

Was it a choice or something expected of you?

Was your plan to sah/woh though out or impulsive? Long-term or short-term?

So another question. Was PA being materialistic when she bought a new Honda Odyessey? Those are very nice minivans and one of the most expensive on the road. The new ones now cost almost as much as my truck. I don't think she was being materialistic. Do you?

<<Are you saying that someone that likes to drive a nice car is materialistic? Maybe that person lives in a modest home, and has no designer clothes, or fancy furniture? Are they still materialistic?>>

Yes, about cars they are materialistic.

<<I work inside my car. That is where the majority of my work is done.>>

But as you said, you don't work now.

So exactly why are you trying to convince me that I need to do so with my children or their friends?

***Yes, about cars they are materialistic.***

So I guess when you bought your Honda you were materialistic.

***But as you said, you don't work now. So your justification for having an suv is pretty much materialistic based on your posts.***

Why? I knew when I went back to work this would be my truck. So no your are incorrect.

***You can say it's not materialistic....but that doesn't make it true. I am materialistic about some things and I don't have a problem admitting it....why do you?***

If I were being materialistic about my truck I would own a much nicer one. I bought the one I have because I have bought most of my trucks from the same local dealer. I am materialistic about my home. I have things in my home that most would think I am bonkers.

I said you didn't need a minivan. I dont need an SUV right now. However we both drive what we drive for certain reasons. If you wanted to be so environmentally friendly then you would drive a sedan. IT would work.

Cars are unsafe period. It isn't againest the law to have a child in the front seat. In your van it is unsafe. You can't turn off your airbag. However it is dangerous whereever a child sits in a car. A car can be rearended, or t boned. Either way a child could get hurt. Sometimes being in the front would be more dangerous...just like being on the right side might be, or the back seat. It depends on where you get hit.
