I am sure this has been done before but I was wondering this in light of recent posts lately.

Why did you decide to sah/woh?

Was it a choice or something expected of you?

Was your plan to sah/woh though out or impulsive? Long-term or short-term?

But you could haul some stuff with a sedan. I can't tow even half the things I need to with a minivan. (Or fit 8 sheets of plywood... or a cord of wood.. )

Wrong. Dh's 2004 Accord has only a lap belt in the center. It will safely only seat 4. And only fit five if two are SMALL.

Yes, you can tow and haul with a sedan and you can also haul plywood and a cord of wood in a pickup truck that wouldn't have as large as impact on the environment as the suvs do.

No it won't. That's the whole point of supply and demand. When demand goes down, supply goes down. That's why GM is laying off people and closing plants.

Depends on whether she bought it because it was nice and expensive or because it fit her needs. Did she buy it because of the benefits? Was there an equally reliable, equally beneficial to her vehicle that was less expensive?

It isn't all about cubic feet. Linear feet can be a necessary determination .. for things such as hockey sticks, lacrosse sticks, skis ...

The Windstars suck. For reliability and safety.

Sometimes it seems like the kids forget that there is a parent within hearing distance. You can learn a whole lot.

How's that? There is no difference between a Suburban and Chevy 1500, other than some sheet metal where the truck bed would be. No difference between a Toyota pickup and a Toyota 4-runner. No difference between an Explorer and a Ranger. The only thing an SUV adds is the ability to seat more people when you need to rather than only hauling capability. SUVs get a bad rap.
