SAH/WOH - Why?

I am sure this has been done before but I was wondering this in light of recent posts lately.

Why did you decide to sah/woh?

Was it a choice or something expected of you?

Was your plan to sah/woh though out or impulsive? Long-term or short-term?

To be honest I have never seen a tent trailer. I did look them up and they do look light. I just know you have to factor in the weigh inside the car, and luggage and supplies when you camp. That really changes the towing factor a lot.

In the first place, I misunderstood snoopy's usage of the word "trailer". In my boyfriend's case, for example, the trailer he hauls has a toilet, sink, bathtub, kitchen fixtures, etc. He can't haul the trailer with a minivan--at least not without out seriously overtaxing the towing capacity, the braking system and the engine.

however, that said, and now understanding snoopy's type of trailer, the fact still remains that when renovating a house, what goes out, usually has to be replaced with something, and from experience I know that picking the stuff up yourself and hauling it in yourself cuts down hugely on renovation costs (delivery charges are huge). Even on special orders, it's cheaper to have the stuff sent to the store from which it was ordered and then haul it to your home itself.

In the case of renovation, hauling in and out is an ongoing process and takes longer than one trip.

I was responding to what jzy said.

Then perhaps you should be asking me and not snoopy. Last I checked, snoopy is not responsible for knowing why and what I post.

In my brother's case, every weekend that the weather permits boating. he stores his boat in his garage on his property, so he has to tow it to the Mississippi or Rock Rivers any time they use it--which is every weekend the weather permits. This past winter has been rather mild, so there's been plenty of boating opportunities on the Rock (not so much on the Mississippi, which is deeper and calmer and tends to freeze over).
