SAH/WOH - Why?
| Mon, 02-20-2006 - 7:41am |
I am sure this has been done before but I was wondering this in light of recent posts lately.
Why did you decide to sah/woh?
Was it a choice or something expected of you?
Was your plan to sah/woh though out or impulsive? Long-term or short-term?

Wow; that's interesting. I can't think of any of dd1's friends who have cell phones yet (she's in third grade).
So kids go home alone after school at 9 or 10 in Sweden? I guess it makes sense for them to have a cell phone if they do.
***You're a very authoritarian parent.***
What is wrong with authority?
***Your kids have to do what you say, "like it or not." You wouldn't allow your kids to make a bad choice and learn from it.***
Sure I do. Like I said. No coat no go. See they learn?
Actually, a lot of kids start walking home even earlier but usually only when the parents are already at home.
Allowing them to learn from their own choice would mean no coat get cold. A perfect logical circumstance unless the temp is cold enough to cause real danger (frost bite, hypothermia).

Yes, the county and the school district share the same name in your area.

My point was...she said she was humiliated when she was spanked."
Another reason not to spank. Humiliation should *never* be a tool used to discipline. IMO its one of the worst things you can do to a human being...period. (Humiliation that is...).
