SAH/WOH - Why?

I am sure this has been done before but I was wondering this in light of recent posts lately.

Why did you decide to sah/woh?

Was it a choice or something expected of you?

Was your plan to sah/woh though out or impulsive? Long-term or short-term?

<<Sometimes too much creativity in discipline can be a bad thing. It can devolve into emotional manipulation in an attempt to mentally coerce the child into doing/not doing something when no restraints are available and a parent is convinced that spanking must be avoided at all costs. >>

Give me a real life example.

So, has she spanked them? Do you ask her to tell you if and when and why? Do you and dh spank them too? Would you spank a child in your charge who isn't yours?

What always worked for my kids is having them poke their nose outside before getting dressed. A couple of seconds of 20 F temps and they never argued about long or short sleeves. I don't know if it would work for everyone, but dd is pretty aware of the thermometer and what the temps mean in practical terms (she's just turned 7).

But here the temperature can be 25 degrees different between 7:30 am and recess time in the early afternoon.

Confinement to stroller or cart. I don't see anything wrong with buckling the kids in the car and then returning a cart. Is that a problem for some reason? It seems like a very common habit around here.

Layers. Spring and fall are absolute nightmares for changing temps and weather conditions. It didn't take long for the kids to figure out that it was important to have extra layers "just in case". I dunno, both of my kids are kind of fascinated with weather conditions and temperatures. Usually the first question of the day is "what's the weather like"?

Which then implies that bread is not a healthy choice, when it is.

I have no intention of leaving my children in a car alone in a busy parking lot.

I really suggest you do further research on this issue, including re-reading many of my posts.
