SAH/WOH - Why?

I am sure this has been done before but I was wondering this in light of recent posts lately.

Why did you decide to sah/woh?

Was it a choice or something expected of you?

Was your plan to sah/woh though out or impulsive? Long-term or short-term?

I'm sorry you see not wanting to humiliate a child as a negative thing.

Is the desire to humiliate a child in some way character-building? Are kids too soft these days and we should bring back the paddle and dunce cap?

I just saw a toddler harness on a boy out in public a few days ago. I thought it was a great idea. There are so many easy ways to "rein" a child in (so to speak) while out in public places, short of spanking him.

No, I'm saying that some people here are labeling anything they wouldn't do humiliating, and anything they do automatically not humiliating, when a lot of the things have equal potential to be humiliating.
