SAH/WOH - Why?

I am sure this has been done before but I was wondering this in light of recent posts lately.

Why did you decide to sah/woh?

Was it a choice or something expected of you?

Was your plan to sah/woh though out or impulsive? Long-term or short-term?

Then I don't know what you're debating about. Because I haven't heard *anyone* hear state that it is part of their regular, preferred, overall approach ... much less a *great* part of their regular, preferred, overall approach.

You must have missed the "low-educated, frustrated" remark ...

It's been quite obvious here that non-spankers think spankers are of some sort of lower value ... either as a person or as a parent or something ...

Why on earth would someone have the car running and the doors open. If nothing more, the carbon monoxide is extremely dangerous for a young child to breathe in.

But I'm not provoked. If she tries to climb in the fishtank, (or stand on the back of the couch, or any other dangerous behavior) I either swat her on the bottom or speak to her sternly or both. She needs to know it is dangerous, and I can't exactly explain it to her. You keep jumping to the conclusion that I must be spanking because I am mad or I'm provoked... and I'm not. I've *been* mad.. very mad. When that happens, I send him to his room until I am not mad. (With ds... dd has never gotten me mad, at least not yet! But he talks)

Just because I have trouble finding a parking space near a cart corrall doesn't mean i don't shop at those times.

Unless you know my Wal-Mart better than I do.

I didn't respond to that one... forgot. There's only one kid where I can *guess* the reason why he hits... he has no supervision whatsoever. I've had him over here at times, and when I send him home (across the street) there's noone there. 99% of the time it supposed to be his 14 year old sister watching him. (She just turned 14 2 weeks ago) When his mom is around, I'm not entirely sure she uses any sort of system, or what, but whatever it is, it doesn't work.

Yes I did. I'd agree with frustrated, but not "low-educated." I know plenty of Yale / Stamford/ Harvard grads and post grads who spank. People who are well educated can make poor decisions. Can and do.

I have no way of knowing your wal-mart. I do know every store has less busy times. Maybe your wal-marts less busy times are still very busy; i have no idea.
