Well, I will cheerfully take the moral low road and say I pay people to do certain things because I like not having to do it myself.
It is not slavery - the people doing things for me have every right to *not* do them. They are paid a fair wage for their duties. It is contributing to the economy. I consider it a win-win situation!
So so true, I can already tell my oldest is the most responsible, he has not have to be told to do his homework, he bring's it to me to look at and I sigh his binder.
no. homework isn't the *begining* of anything. it's a *part* of how my child is doing in school. i'm a parent who choses to be very invlolved in my child's school and homework isn't measured any less than anything else. i suppose i could just rely on tests (no,not only standard testing) to see how my child's doing. sigh......we have a beautiful routine that works for us. one of which includes sitting down and going over homework together.
thanks for sharing all you think homework means to you, though.

My third grader and dd whole other story.
I agree. I have learned the hard way that what worked for #1 doesn't work for #2. It's like learning all over again.
Everyone is different, therefore different solutions work. Sort of like sah/woh.
Thank you once
