I disagree, since your implications about what how you think i may be doing thing's and how things get done are nothing but assumption's.

We have a set time every nite for each child that home work is done and finished by the child and i or dh have small to little intervention. This is homework time. Then we have a time to wind down and reflect upon what we learned and i get to learn, they also read aloud to me at this time.

By starting and finishing at a certain time every day without being "buged"

Just like when they each do their chores on their list without being told and they earn rewards for their responsibility.

How do you correct and review on a subject that you are not familiar with?

I do not check up on them, like iam a drill seargent this is a bonding time for my children and i. It is a very positive experience, their is no stress or negativity in this time of our day. My children choose their own time to do homework and it changes as they change...ya know those phases, sometimes my oldest get's all of his all homework done befor he gets home in his study time... and during homework time for him, he goes over or read. He reviews and studies.

Oh forgive me, I did not realize it was a judgmental post specifically about you and children, i thought it was in general. Im sure you know what works best for your family.

I have what i consider a bigger than the norm family. Homework and review is a time for me and dh to spend alone time, with eqach child, it can be very hard to find this time for each individual child. I cannot even imagine how the gal here with six children does it, i tip my hat to her. my children do need to designate a time to do homework to study and review we are all so busy it keeps things organized in our house.

understood, it sounds like we actually do some of the same thing's. I do not point out mistakes or error. I am trying to raise my kid's not to be that way anyway, cuz in my outlook "to point out error proves weakness" :)

i did I said when my ten year old turns 12 i do not find myself making any changes on my philosophy of parenting homework.

Yes, I do think that how invovled a parent is in homework is a reflection on how involved they are with their education.

I disagree, not only does it teach independence and respopnsibility but structure and organization.

I do not bug my children to do there home work.

My children have designted time's for computer, play station, lesson's practice games ect.
